I went to the Tenderloin location once, I think it was, and found it perfectly underwhelming, particularly given the God-like reverence with which so many people seem to speak of this local chain. Maybe I'm just desensitized to heat, but I found it decidedly unspicy. Anyone have recommendations on what is/isn't good there? I'd be willing to give it another shot sometime. -

Wed, March 8, 2006 - 7:26 PMTheir spiciness is nothing to really notice, it's more the convenience of cheap indian food. I also have been to the one in tenderloin, Eddy and Leavenworth, which I was more surprised at how big the place is. The Berkeley one is definitely more cozy. But if in Berkeley, I've had cheap Indian food elsewhere, I think around University and MLK. Still nothing spicy about it, just better food. -

Fri, March 10, 2006 - 3:16 PMI was once at a Thai place which had six levels of heat: American mild, American medium, American spicy, Thai mild, thai medium, and Thai spicy.
Perhaps that approach might work with Naan'n'Curry? Ask for "Indian spicy, not American spicy"? -

and we are happy to report that we LOVE it!
They gave us wonderful service
and there is WiFi!
(the hotel has a signal
but if that cuts out
they have thier own
but you need to ask for the code)
Oh... and yes... it is Halal!
So, now Anja and I have our late night
workstation right there!
